It's okay to go to the salon to get your hair done for a special occasion, but going there too often can be expensive. So cutting your hair at home is a good way to save money. The first few times may be very nervous, a few more cuts to get started. This article will teach you how to trim long hair, short hair, and bangs.
Buy a pair of sharp scissors. The first step to getting your own hair cut at home is to get the right tools. This means a pair of scissors (don't use any old scissors at home) and a dense comb. Scissors for hairdressing can be found in general hairdressing supplies, and the price is also very cheap. Of course, if you don't want to buy special scissors, you can use scissors that cut fabric, but only if they are sharp enough. If the scissors used are very dull, the hair will be bumpy, not to mention cut a good shape
Wash your hair, but don't blow dry it. Wet hair is easier to cut than dry hair. So just wash your hair before you cut it. After washing, use a comb to smooth out your hair without any tangles. Conditioner can relieve hair frizzy, not easy to comb phenomenon. If your hair is long or thick, it may have dried in some places before it was cut. In this case, you can prepare a spray bottle, fill it with water, and add a little conditioner to wet dry hair again.
Clip the outer hair. Divide your hair into layers, and the number of layers varies depending on the thickness of your hair. The first thing to do is clip the outer hair and cut it from the bottom layer. Use a rubber band or clip to hold the outer layer of hair in place, so that it does not fall off and prevent you from cutting the bottom layer of hair. After cutting the bottom layer of hair, part the next layer from the clipped hair.
Find the fork. If you just want to trim the damaged ends of your hair a little, you need to look at the bottom first to see how much hair needs to be cut. Cut away damaged areas, like jagged and frizzy ends and split ends. To maintain good hair quality, it is best to start cutting from about 6mm away from the damaged part.
Measure exactly how long to cut. Use the index and middle fingers of the hand without the scissors to snag the hair. Once your fingers are stuck in your hair, pull it down and slide it to almost where you want to cut it. Hair must be smoothed ahead of time, no tangles. Dry hair is a little shorter than wet hair, especially curly hair. So be careful when you measure the length. Remember: you can keep cutting if you don't cut it short enough, but if you cut it too short you won't be able to cut it longer.
Cut off the ends of your hair. When cutting, the scissors stick to the fingers of the hair. Hair should be tight at this time, do not let go. The hand holding the hair must be clamped tightly and kept still. Do it slowly and cut the hair completely. If you want the neat look you just cut out, then you don't need it. But if you want it to look natural, hold the scissors upright (point them at your fingers) and cut directly into the ends of your hair. The result is less stiff and softer hair
Check that the cut is the same length. You have to compare each layer carefully to make sure it's the same length. Hold the hair between thumb and forefinger, with one side in each hand. Both hands grip the hair from the same height, then slide it down at the same speed, the side that comes out first is shorter. Modify according to the result of comparison. Compare and revise again and again until you are satisfied. Then cut off another layer of hair.
Cut out layers according to the situation. Cutting layers is best left to a professional hairdresser, especially if the hair is particularly thick or curly. But if you need to trim layers to flatter your face, you can use the following method: Again, layer the hair, cut layer by layer. With your fingers, clip as much hair as possible at a time and trim as little as possible. The scissors should be tilted slightly downward. In other words, the scissors are tilted in the same direction as the chin on that side of the face. Use the previous method to trim the ends of the hair a bit more natural, and then compare the two sides of the hair to see if it is the same length.
Wait until your hair is dry to check. Blow dry or air dry your hair as you normally would, looking for any noticeable incongruity. Use a handheld mirror with a large mirror to check the hair behind you. Of course, it's even better if you get a trusted friend to watch it for you. If there are small flaws, be careful when fixing, and cut as little as possible
Get your tools ready. Usually the very short hair is done with an electric razor and scissors. So you'll need a sharp pair of scissors and an electric razor (and a matching limit comb depending on the length you want).
First, wet your hair. Because wet hair is easier to cut and clean. You can wash your hair or just spray it wet.
Start at the top of the head. For men's hair, the top of the head is longer than the sides and the back of the head. Cut from 2.5-5cm above the ear, take the electric razor vertically, around the back of the head, and push it all the way to the same position in the other ear. Then trim the hair on the forehead, holding an electric razor above the ear and pushing it along the hairline to the other side. Finally, push off all the hair between the two parts of your shave.
Then trim the back and sides. Put a shorter limit comb on the electric razor and push it up from the temples until we start shaving our hair at the beginning, which is 2.5-5cm above the ears. The same goes for the hair behind the shave, starting from the neck and pushing up until the original shave position. The length of the hair varies greatly at this time, and we need to modify it with scissors.
Now use scissors to make a slight modification. Find the point where the two lengths of hair divide and hold the long hair between the index and middle fingers of the hand that is not holding the scissors. Then use scissors to trim the ends of your hair for a more natural transition. Touch up all the boundaries so your hair doesn't stand out. Ask a friend to check anything out, or use a hand-held mirror to look at the large mirror for yourself. If you can't hold your "long" hair between your fingers, just trim it.
